Alabama Shakes have announced I Must Be Dreaming, their first studio album since 2015’s Sound & Color. The 11-track record is scheduled for release on August 28 through Island Records.
As part of the announcement, the band released a new single titled I Feel Hope Coming. The song joins American Dream and Another Life, two tracks that were shared earlier and will also appear on the album.
Singer Brittany Howard said the title reflects two sides of the same experience. It can describe the confusion of living through a chaotic period, but also the feeling of recognizing beauty in the world. Both ideas shape the meaning behind the record.
Howard recorded the album with Alabama Shakes members Heath Fogg and Zac Cockrell. The group began working together again after a surprise reunion performance in December 2024, marking a return following several years focused on separate projects.
Alabama Shakes are also touring through September, with scheduled appearances across Europe, the United States, and Canada. The album includes songs such as Tea Time, Garden, Friends, Waist Deep, and Tied to You.
